BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE (BSCS)
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) is the study of computing concepts and theories, algorithmic foundations and new developments in computing. The program prepares students to design and create algorithmically complex software and develop new and effective algorithms for solving computing problems.
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) aims to produce graduates who:
- are capable of analyzing and identifying requirements for rapidly changing computing problems and information system environments
- are capable of designing and implementing solutions for rapidly changing computing problems and information system environments
- employ in the productive practice of computer science to identify and solve significant problems across a broad range of application areas, and be able to document and communicate these solutions
- have good communication skills and are able to effectively work in teams
- are capable of gauging the impact of computing on society, and possess knowledge of the ethical, social and professional implications/responsibilities of their work
- engage in life-long learning to adapt to innovation and change, and are successful in their professional work or graduate studies
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY(BSIT)
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program prepares students to be IT professionals, be well versed on application installation, operation, development, maintenance and administration, and familiar with hardware installation, operation, and maintenance. It includes the study of almost all forms of technology and their elements used to create, store, exchange and use information in various forms. It prepares students by providing them an avenue to learn and practice computing concepts, theories, analyze, develop and implement business solutions to address business needs and technology related problems.
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program aims to produce graduates who:
- have the ability on the use of computer technology, communications technology, computing solutions according to its purpose and its appropriate use.
- are proficient and skilled in conceptualizing, designing and implementing software applications.
- are efficient in the development of office support, network, and specialized professional software development.
- have the capacity to develop computing business solutions to address various users’ needs involving the selection, development, application, integration and management of computing technologies within an organization.
- are committed and determined to continuously enhance their competencies through continuing education, researches, and involvement in community services
- have effective communication skills orally and in writing, interact professionally, and work effectively on multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives specially in bridging the communication gap between IT world and Business world to properly transform business case into technical solutions.
- have high ethical standards, considering the impact of computing solutions and appropriate use of technology to individuals, organizations and society.
BACHELOR IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE (BLIS)
The Bachelor in Library and Information Science (BLIS) is the study of library and information principles, laws, concepts, theories, trends and development of library and information centers. The program prepares students to become a professional librarian that knows how to manage and organize library applying the theories, principles, concepts and laws related to the practice of librarianship.
The Bachelor in Library and Information Science (BLIS) program aims to produce graduates who:
- are proficient in managing and leading the library and information center by applying the basic principles, laws, theories and practices in the field of librarianship.
- have research skills and creativity in developing computer-based library systems and services that will provide easy access to information in different formats
- are committed and determined to continuously enhance their competencies through continuing education, researches, and involvement in community services
- can communicate well orally and in writing, interact professionally, and work effectively on multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
- apply the code of ethics of librarians, including concern for the impact of librarianship in the promotion of reading, culture and arts on individuals, organizations, and society.
